To provide some background about myself, I’m 38 and live in Kent, England with my wife and son. From what I’ve read about other sufferers of Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) I may perhaps be quite lucky in that I’ve got to this age before needing to be put on something stronger than over the counter anti-inflammatory drugs, but it’s a horrible condition which leaves me in constant pain and this obviously effects all aspects of my life from family through to work. I’ve added a new page to this blog called ‘AS – My Story’ which goes into more detail about how it affects me, please read it if you want more information. I started this blog mainly so I could keep track of events myself, but obviously the world at large can read it if they wish and I welcome any comments.
My Gallery- Salad dodgerA man after my own heart, a salad dodger. I quite liked the way the guy on the right is using his phone in the other hand to the main guy, plus there's a guy in hi-viz in the background doing nothing, like they do.
- A definite style statementFunnily enough this lady stood out from the crowd quite a bit, can't think why.
- Dumplings don't make themselves you know…I had a brilliant day out in London yesterday with Pip, taking in the superb 'Magnum 62' exhibition at Chris Beetles, then on to Covent Garden and the surrounding area. I'm still loving the X100 and really can't fault it to be honest, apart from it being possible to put the battery in the wrong way round. Image quality is just stunning an […]

I have had AS for many years, mainly in my neck and knees. I have also had the bowel problems that go with it and have learned to live life to the full when you can. On good days make the most of things and on bad days think to your self I did twice as much as normal people yesterday and I will do the same tomorrow.
Speak to you on the WEX site soon, and by the way nice photos, especially the pit bull.
Fantastic photos – I mean it! – there must be a new career there. Interesting to find out more about AS, I was very sketchy about your condition, your story and the links really help me appreciate quite how much you’re having to put up with. Bloody weather’s getting on my nerves too!
Thanks Graham, kind words.
Hello man. I’ve got AS as well. I’m about to be 24. I’m still alright. I mean, I can’t really run as much as I want to, and in fact, it’s quite painful. But, you know, I’m glad your blog is around. It’s helpful for us (AS sufferers) to read other people’s stories. Nice online community. I’m starting one as well. And I’m in California, over in the states. Peace.
I know nothing about AS but I feel I know you through your photographs and I love the tone of your writing. I’m glad I followed a hunch and discovered this fab blog.
